Vanessa Satelle (Ciudad de México)
Vanessa works as an independent design consultant, collaborating with companies to create meaningful and innovative design solutions. Previously she worked as a Sr. Designer at Philips Design Healthcare in Netherlands, in large multidisciplinary projects.
She also works as Design Research Coordinator and professor at Centro de Investigaciones de Diseño Industrial, CIDI UNAM.
Vanessa’s expertise ranges from research, innovation strategy, concept generation and refinement up to final implementation on the market. She can tackle complex design problems, and has a strong empathy ability to discover insights and deliver meaningful and iconic solutions that bring value to the customer.
Her concept work has won prestigious awards such as IDEA award, IF concept award, ID student design review, and Core 77 challenge. She has been granted 3 intellectual property patents and 2 design patents.
Vanessa was born in Mexico and has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design from the National University UNAM.
In 2008, she graduated from a Master in Advanced Product Design from the Design Institute in Umea. As part of her studies she carried out projects with brands such as Scandinavian Airlines, Alstom and Fresenius Medical Care, and participated in an internship with Toyota Boshoku in Japan.
After graduation she joined Philips Design in the Netherlands, working in several projects in the healthcare domain and company innovation programs such as Design Probes. She also worked at the design consultancies Van Berlo and Smart Design in New York, where she earned experience as a lead designer in several projects and was intern program coordinator, responsible for hiring and coaching new talent.
